Call for proposals for ncss

If you're interested in presenting in New Orleans for the National Council for the Social Studies, they are taking proposals now, until March 1, 2015.

This year's theme is, "Celebrate Social Responsibility."  They also mention:

Celebrate Human Rights
Does your proposal examine an event in the legacy of human rights throughout history?

Celebrate Social Studies and the Young Learner
Does your proposal focus on Social Studies education for the young learner?

Celebrate Sustainability
Does your presentation discuss sustainability either geographically,environmentally, and/or economically?

Celebrate Global Citizenship-Past and Present
Does your presentation of an historical event make a connection to current topics in order to keep the past current and support the concept of global citizenry.

Celebrate Excellence in Social Studies Education (Pedagogy & Content Knowledge)
Does your presentation share effective teaching practices, e.g., questioning skills, applying concepts and tools, integrating technology?  Does your presentation provide instructional strategies to create learning opportunities that help students acquire the skills, practices, and content knowledge of Social Studies?
